Following the death of 24-year-old Arad Niakan, authorities have charged four men with murder. The victim sustained fatal stab wounds on Wednesday at De Montfort Place, located near London Road.
The suspects facing murder charges are Talha Satar, 21; Said Mahamed, 20; Husni Benramadan, 19; and Yousouf Khan, 18. In addition to the murder charge, all four individuals face counts of possessing a knife in public and holding an imitation firearm with the intent to commit a crime.
A fifth person, 21-year-old Kassam Tarmahoomed, has been charged with assisting an offender. All five are slated for an appearance at Leicester Magistrates’ Court this coming Monday.
Leicestershire Police continue their investigation into the incident. While a 33-year-old man previously held on suspicion of murder was released without further action, four others arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail.
