Everton and England defender Ashley Young could face a dream family clash in the FA Cup third round when his team meets Peterborough United, where his 18-year-old son, Tyler, plays.
Peterborough is set to visit Goodison Park next month, and Young is eager to watch his son in action for the League One club, where Tyler made his senior debut earlier this season.
“Dreams might come true,” Young said in a post on social media.
At 39 years old, Ashley Young has made an impressive 724 appearances for top clubs such as Watford, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Inter Milan.
His situation mirrors that of LeBron James and his son Bronny, who became the first father-son duo to play together in an NBA regular-season game for the Los Angeles Lakers in October.
The FA Cup third-round match will take place during the weekend of January 11-12, with 44 teams from the Premier League and Championship joining the 20 lower-league and non-league sides who triumphed in the previous round.
