Wales management is evaluating whether to hand Exeter back-row player Kane James his first senior appearance in the upcoming Nations Championship match against Argentina. The 21-year-old athlete is being looked at for a substitute role when the teams meet in San Juan this Saturday.
Head coach Steve Tandy intends to rotate his squad following their opening victory over Fiji. James, a former England Under-20s representative, enjoyed a strong campaign with Exeter, featuring in 18 matches including the Premiership final. His progress had previously been interrupted by an ankle injury in January, which sidelined him during the selection process for the Six Nations.
If selected, James could make his international debut in Argentina before the team travels to South Africa for a subsequent fixture in Durban on July 18.
