Esther Okoronkwo has been voted the Super Falcons’ Fans Player of the Tournament at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The 27-year-old forward stood out with a stellar showing, netting two goals and contributing six assists across six matches. Her impressive run also earned her two Woman of the Match honors.

The announcement was made via the team’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, with the message: “Presenting your #WAFCON2024 Fans’ Player of the Tournament… Esther Okoronkwo, OON. Clutch. Composed. Crowned by the people.”

Okoronkwo won the fan vote ahead of fellow nominees Rasheedat Ajibade, Folashade Ijamilusi, Ashleigh Plumptre, Chiwendu Ihezuo, and Jennifer Echegini.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons clinched the title with a dramatic 3–2 victory over host nation Morocco in the tournament final.
