EFCC Nabs 34 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Ekiti Raids
In a sweeping crackdown on cybercrime, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested thirty-four individuals suspected of engaging in internet-related fraud in Ekiti State.
The arrests were made by the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate in the early hours of Monday, June 23, 2025, during coordinated operations in the Iworoko and Ijado areas of Ado-Ekiti. The raids, which were intelligence-driven, targeted locations reportedly linked to a web of online fraud schemes.

According to the EFCC, the operation yielded substantial evidence, including:
Eleven high-end vehicles, Several laptop computers, Numerous mobile phones, and Documents believed to be associated with fraudulent online activity.
The anti-graft agency confirmed that all thirty-four suspects are currently in custody. Investigations are ongoing, and the EFCC stated that the individuals will be charged in court once the probe is concluded.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to tackling cybercrime and bringing offenders to justice, warning that it will continue to pursue those who exploit digital platforms to defraud unsuspecting victims.
