Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has officially nominated Martin Anayochukwu Oli to serve as a commissioner. Oli is a successful entrepreneur and a prominent leader within the Igbo community, originally hailing from Aninri in Enugu State.
Umar Musa Ikhilor, the Secretary to the State Government, released an official announcement confirming the nomination. The document highlighted Oli’s significant efforts in local grassroots development, entrepreneurship, and his dedicated advocacy for progress among the Igbo population residing in Edo.
This decision reflects Governor Okpebholo’s promise to prioritize inclusive governance and unity. By appointing individuals regardless of their state of origin, the administration aims to recognize those who contribute meaningfully to the growth of Edo. The nomination is currently heading to the Edo State House of Assembly for the mandatory screening process. If approved, the move will solidify the administration’s focus on competence and public service.
