Law enforcement authorities in Ebonyi State have opened a formal inquiry into the homicide of Chidiebere Okpara, a local Neighbourhood Watch operative. The victim was fatally shot by unidentified armed individuals in Ugwuachara, located within the Ebonyi Local Government Area.
SP Joshua Ukandu, the spokesperson for the state police, verified that the assault took place late Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. While investigators have yet to detain any suspects, Ukandu confirmed that officers are actively pursuing leads to track down the assailants.
