Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his backing of the program’s scholarship initiatives. In a recent announcement, Otuaro revealed that 16 students funded by the program finished their master’s degrees in the United Kingdom, with four earning distinctions.
The high-achieving graduates include Nina Orubebe, who studied Financial Management; Tonbra Tonlagha, specializing in International Hospitality and Tourism; Kemien Egbekun, who focused on Law; and Simon Douye, a graduate in Construction Engineering Management. Their peers also finished degrees in fields such as data science, oil and gas, software engineering, and global public health from various UK institutions like Cambridge and Coventry University.
Otuaro noted that since he took leadership in March 2024, 111 students have completed master’s or doctoral studies, split between foreign and domestic institutions. He credited these results to the Federal Government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes human capital growth in the Niger Delta. The Administrator thanked President Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for their support, noting that increased funding has allowed the PAP to support nearly 9,000 local undergraduate and postgraduate students, alongside 247 foreign scholarship recipients.
