Donald Trump to Join FIFA President for World Cup Final Trophy Presentation

FIFA President Gianni Infantino says President Trump will attend the July 19 World Cup final in New Jersey to help present the championship trophy.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed on Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump will be in attendance for the World Cup final in New Jersey this July 19. During the event, the two leaders are scheduled to participate in the trophy presentation for the winning team.

Speaking on Fox and Friends, Infantino noted that he and the president plan to share the stage to honor the victors. The pair have maintained a professional rapport, highlighted by Infantino granting Trump a special FIFA peace prize during a Washington event last year.

This arrangement comes after the scrutiny surrounding the Club World Cup final held in New Jersey last year, where Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain. Following the match, President Trump presented the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James but remained on the pitch, becoming an unexpected participant in the team’s victory celebration.
