Law enforcement officials in Nigeria have apprehended a controversial disc jockey following public threats made against Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu. The arrest occurred shortly after a video surfaced online in which the individual claimed the president would fail to secure re-election in 2027.
During the viral recording, the DJ explicitly threatened to end the life of the president’s son should the administration retain power. While rumors regarding his detainment circulated on social media, content creator Tunde Perry verified the arrest during a broadcast on Thursday.
Reports indicate that individuals associated with the presidency facilitated the detainment, rather than the president or his son acting directly. The suspect had suggested that because the president is the primary Yoruba candidate for the upcoming 2027 election, he would target the family if the electoral outcome was unfavorable.
