Davido claims US government contact regarding Osun election concerns

Afrobeats artist Davido says the US government contacted him after he raised alarms about potential election-related violence in Osun State.

Nigerian musician Davido recently announced that representatives from the United States government have contacted him regarding his worries about the upcoming gubernatorial race in Osun State.

Earlier, the singer had appealed directly to then-US President Donald Trump through social media. In his message, Davido warned of potential violence, voter intimidation, and broader threats to the democratic process during the state elections.

Davido requested immediate intervention to prevent electoral conflict and loss of life. Shortly after his initial post, he returned to X to confirm that officials had made contact, though he refrained from sharing specifics regarding the nature of their communication.

In his follow-up statement, he suggested that the international community is paying close attention to the integrity of the electoral process.
