Couple Killed in Tragic Accident Hours After Wedding Ceremony in Ghana
A heartbreaking accident in Gurugu, a suburb of Tamale in Ghana’s Northern Region, has claimed the lives of a newly married couple, Salifu Abdul Rashad and Alhassan Ayisha, just hours after they celebrated their wedding.
The fatal crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, as the couple was traveling from the bride’s family home to the groom’s residence. Riding on a motorcycle, they reportedly collided with an oncoming car along the road to Gurugu.
According to eyewitness accounts, Ayisha died on the spot while Rashad was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The couple had earlier been seen celebrating joyfully with friends and family during their wedding ceremony a moment that has now been darkened by sorrow.
Their bodies have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, turning what should have been a joyful new beginning into an unimaginable end.
