Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has finalized his plans for Mykhailo Mudryk as the team prepares for their upcoming preseason match. Speaking at a press conference in Hong Kong, Alonso confirmed that the winger will be part of the squad facing Juventus.
The Chelsea squad traveled over 4,500 miles from Sydney to reach Hong Kong for the next leg of their international tour. The upcoming friendly is scheduled for Wednesday at the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium.
This match is particularly notable for the return of the 25-year-old Ukrainian winger, who recently cleared an anti-doping suspension. Mudryk rejoined his teammates yesterday after a lengthy period of training independently.
Alonso praised Mudryk’s professionalism and expressed satisfaction at having him back with the group. While he noted that a full 90-minute appearance might be premature, the manager confirmed that Mudryk is eligible for selection and will be integrated into the squad’s activities. The focus remains on gradually building his fitness while he settles back into the team environment.
