Charlie Kirk’s Wife Struggling to Tell Children About His Death

The wife of Charlie Kirk is reportedly finding it difficult to explain his death to their young children following his assassination.

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at an event in Utah on Wednesday. He leaves behind his wife, Erika, and their two children — a three-year-old daughter and a 16-month-old son.

Jack Posobiec, a contributor to Turning Point USA, spoke with NewsNation on Thursday, praising Erika’s strength and faith.

“Erika is incredibly strong,” Posobiec said. “But someone will have to tell their son and daughter why their dad didn’t come home yesterday. She and Charlie were deeply devout Christians, and their faith guides how they live every day, not just in front of cameras.”

He added that Erika’s faith was giving her the strength to endure the tragedy.

Beau Mason, Utah’s Department of Public Safety commissioner, said Thursday morning that Erika and the family are “devastated.” The couple had recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May.
