The Gombe office of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) hosted a stakeholder fair on Tuesday aimed at expanding financial inclusion, increasing public awareness of its functions, and gathering input on its services. Held at the International Conference Centre, the gathering included government representatives, financial experts, business owners, and students.
Alhaji Yunusa Buba Mubi, the CBN Branch Controller, stated that the event seeks to foster better communication between the apex bank and citizens. A team from the bank’s headquarters, headed by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications and Investors Relations, participated to lead educational sessions. Mubi encouraged attendees to engage actively to help refine bank operations.
Representing the CBN Governor, Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali explained that the program supports the institution’s goal of improving Nigerian livelihoods through financial education and digital payment options. She reaffirmed the CBN’s focus on price stability and financial sector integrity as vital pillars for economic progress.
Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, represented by Alhaji Salihu Adamu Sambo, praised the CBN for promoting digital financial tools that simplify transactions. However, he urged the public to remain vigilant against cyber threats that could threaten economic stability. The event focused on the theme of utilizing alternative payment channels to drive growth and development.
