African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, has announced that the party will not depend on the integrity of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections. Instead, the party plans to actively defend its ballots.
During a public awareness exercise in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday, Abdullahi noted that while some INEC officials maintain integrity, the party was burnt by trusting the commission in 2023. He declined to reveal the specific methods the party will employ to secure its votes in the upcoming cycle.
The event, which saw supporters march 13 kilometres, signaled to Abdullahi that the ADC is gaining significant traction in Kwara. He highlighted that their governorship candidate, Zakari Mohammed, a former two-term federal lawmaker, offers superior experience compared to the current All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
Regarding Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Abdullahi argued that the governor has underperformed in addressing resident needs. However, he clarified that his critiques are strictly focused on governance and policy, rather than personal grievances, noting he has no intention of joining personal political vendettas against the governor.
