Birmingham City have acquired 19-year-old French striker Chancelle Effa Effa from Le Havre for a fee reported at over £100,000.

Birmingham City have finalized the signing of 19-year-old French forward Chancelle Effa Effa from Le Havre. The WSL 2 champions reportedly paid a fee slightly exceeding £100,000 for the talented teenager. A product of the Le Havre academy, Effa Effa debuted for the senior squad at just 15 and was instrumental in the club’s promotion to the top tier of French football.

A regular for France across all youth levels from U16 to U23, the striker has netted 17 goals in 28 international matches. She notably contributed to France’s 2023 Women’s U17 European Championship victory. Expressing her excitement about the move, Effa Effa noted that the club’s ambitious vision convinced her to join.

Manager Amy Merricks praised the newcomer as a high-potential forward with significant top-flight and international experience. Alongside this player acquisition, Birmingham City announced the hiring of Mark Beard as assistant head coach and Ben Chapman as the new goalkeeping coach to bolster their technical staff.
