Ayoola Idowu, a father of two who lost his eyesight following a radiotherapy procedure, remains in urgent need of N15.2 million for a life-saving cornea transplant in India. While past donations of N1,156,413 from the public provided essential housing and living support, the funds required for his medical restoration remain significantly out of reach.
The family’s situation has worsened as they can no longer afford school fees, forcing Idowu’s children to discontinue their education. One child was recently removed from school during examinations due to outstanding payments. Idowu expressed his deep appreciation for those who previously contributed but emphasized that his primary goal is to regain his sight so he can resume working and supporting his family.
Medical documentation from Max Healthcare Hospital in Gurgaon, India, confirms that a cornea transplant could restore his vision, with the estimated cost for surgery and travel reaching approximately N15.2 million. Consequently, Idowu is calling upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Health, and other benefactors to provide the financial assistance needed for this procedure.
