The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Dawakin Kudu Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State. Professor Umar Sani from Bayero University, Kano, acting as the Returning Officer, made the official announcement at the local collation centre.
The electoral contest saw Rabiu Shuaibu of the APC emerge as the clear winner with 35,356 votes. His nearest competitors trailed significantly behind, with Lawal Garba Haruna of the African People’s Movement (APM) receiving 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP) obtaining 98 votes.
Professor Sani formally certified the results, confirming that Shuaibu met all legal requirements to be declared the elected representative for the constituency. The electoral process was reported as orderly, adhering to established guidelines, and concluded with a significant margin for the APC candidate.
