APC Leadership Adjusts Ondo National Assembly Candidate Roster

The APC has officially revised its list of Ondo State National Assembly candidates, replacing several initial winners while confirming others following an internal review process.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has modified its lineup of candidates for the National Assembly in Ondo State following an internal review of primary election results. By addressing grievances through its Primary Election Appeal Committees, the party finalized a new slate of representatives for the upcoming polls.

National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda and Secretary Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru submitted the updated list to INEC on June 29, 2026. This adjustment impacted two senatorial districts and several House of Representatives constituencies.

In the Senate races, Adeniyi Adegbonmire replaced Taiwo Fasoranti for Ondo Central, while Olajide Ipinsagba took over for Gbenga Elegbeleye in Ondo North. Isaac Kekemeke remains the candidate for Ondo South, following the withdrawal of Jimoh Ibrahim. Meanwhile, various House of Representatives seats saw replacements, including Timehin Adelegbe, Okunjimi John Odimayo, Donald Ojogo, Festus Olarewaju Akingbaso, Michael Olajide Akintomide, and Festus Ayodele Adefiranye.

Despite these shifts, several incumbents maintained their party support, including Ifeoluwa Ehindero, Adegboyega Adefarati, Omowunmi Olatunji, and Abiodun Adesida. In total, six current House members and two senators successfully held onto their party nominations for the next election cycle.
