Segilola Resources Operating Limited underscores its commitment to sustainable mining and community growth at the 5th AFNIS summit in Abuja.

Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL) showcased its dedication to sustainable mining practices during the 5th Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS). The event, which took place from June 23–25, 2026, at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, was organized by the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.

Bringing together a diverse group of policymakers, investors, and industry experts, the summit focused on the theme, “One Africa, One Resource Vision: Forging a Continental Alliance for Sustainable Development.” Discussions centered on resource governance, energy transitions, and the future of African mineral extraction.

SROL, which operates Nigeria’s primary large-scale commercial gold mine, returned as a summit sponsor to highlight the importance of community development and ethical operational standards. Country Manager Austin Menegbo represented the company, emphasizing that responsible mining requires creating long-term value for host communities while adhering to global standards. Menegbo noted that such practices are vital for Nigeria’s economic diversification and broader continental growth.
