Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has publicly rejected the possibility of Peter Obi becoming Nigeria’s president. In a recent TVC interview, the former governor labeled the politician as a trader focused solely on short-term gains rather than long-term national planning.
Oshiomhole argued that traders prioritize quick turnover, contrasting this with the perspective of manufacturers who invest significant time and effort into long-term infrastructure. He further criticized Obi’s past political shifts, specifically referencing his departure from APGA to join Atiku Abubakar as a running mate, which Oshiomhole portrayed as a departure from the values of Odumegwu Ojukwu.
The senator further characterized Obi’s business approach as one that fails to benefit the local economy. According to Oshiomhole, Obi’s professional background centers on exporting jobs and importing unemployment, dismissing his capabilities as a leader by stating that his business experience is limited to running a shopping mall.
