A group of suspected kidnappers struck the Kobape region of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, on Thursday evening. The assault occurred around 7 p.m. as Al-haqq Shobakin attempted to assist a neighbor, Olayinka Obadimu, with his gate.
As Obadimu departed the property, the attackers emerged and opened fire. Obadimu managed to escape by driving away rapidly, but Shobakin was struck in the chest during the barrage. He is presently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private facility located in Abeokuta.
Following the shooting, the assailants entered the residence and seized two individuals, identified as Kelvin Moyegun and Kehinde Rufai. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson, verified the events on Friday. He stated that law enforcement officers have been dispatched to track down the suspects and ensure the safe return of the kidnapped residents.
