Soldiers from Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace have stabilized the Dong Community in Jos North, Plateau State, after a violent confrontation broke out between local farmers and herders. The conflict occurred around 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, near the riverside.
Upon receiving reports of the dispute, troops stationed at the Dong Check Point immediately traveled to the site to halt the violence. One farmer, John Ajah, suffered injuries during the struggle and was taken to a local medical facility for care.
To secure a long-term resolution, military personnel worked alongside community leaders to mediate the disagreement. These discussions successfully quelled the immediate hostility.
