Trent Rockets Secure Playoff Spot With Victory Over MI London

Trent Rockets secured their spot in the Hundred’s knockout stages after a six-wicket victory over MI London, anchored by Mitchell Santner’s maiden half-century.

The Trent Rockets clinched a place in the Hundred’s knockout stages following a six-wicket win against MI London at The Oval. By securing their sixth victory in seven games, the Rockets now sit at the top of the table with 24 points, effectively guaranteeing a top-three finish.

During their chase of the 148-run target, the Rockets initially struggled, losing Finn Allen, Aneurin Donald, and Sam Billings to reach 46-3. However, Mitchell Santner and Tim David rescued the innings. Benefiting from dropped catches, Santner struck his first-ever half-century in the tournament off just 21 balls, finishing unbeaten alongside David as the team won with 10 balls remaining.

MI London batted first and managed 147-7. Despite a strong start, they were hampered by excellent fielding from the visitors, including a notable running catch by Tim David and a direct-hit run-out by Ben Duckett. Sam Curran led the scoring for the hosts with an impressive 72 off 46 deliveries, though his efforts were not enough to stop the Rockets’ momentum.
