Charley Hull matched the Ladies European Tour record for the lowest round after carding a 62 at the Centurion Club, bringing her within one stroke of the lead at the PIF London Championship. The English player moved to 10-under-par, sitting just behind 17-year-old leader Anna Huang of Canada. Hull’s bogey-free performance also set a new course record, surpassing the previous mark established by Georgia Hall in 2021.
This impressive round ties Hull with Haeran Ryu, Jessica Korda, Alison Lee, and Karrie Webb for the tour’s lowest-ever score. Despite a slow opening round of 74, Hull surged up the leaderboard on the second day with an eagle and nine birdies. Reflecting on her day, the 30-year-old admitted she was feeling physically drained and dealing with minor injuries following her performance at the AIG Women’s Open, yet she felt the round was remarkably straightforward.
Anna Huang maintained her lead with a 68, following her initial 67, bringing her to 11-under-par. Meanwhile, Lydia Hall from Wales holds third place at eight-under-par following a 67 in Hertfordshire. Hull, who turned professional at 16, noted she felt she could have performed even better despite the historic result.
