The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council and the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) are at odds regarding a video circulating online. The footage appears to show citizens taking oaths of allegiance in anticipation of the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
Oluremi Omowaiye, spokesperson for the APC campaign, claimed the video ties Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party to illegal voter coercion. The APC characterized these actions as a threat to democratic freedom and urged security forces to launch an immediate inquiry. Furthermore, the APC criticized the state administration’s performance, alleging excessive spending on travel and hotels alongside claims of small financial inducements provided to civil servants.
In response, the Imole Campaign Council, represented by Bamidele Salam, categorically denied any involvement by Governor Adeleke. The council is currently scrutinizing the origins and legitimacy of the recording. Salam maintained that the governor is a committed democrat who rejects intimidation and values the right of individuals to vote freely. The Imole Campaign Council dismissed the APC’s claims as an attempt to distract from substantive policy debates regarding healthcare, infrastructure, and education.
