Governor Buni Inaugurates New State Appointees in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has inaugurated a new team of officials, including the SSG and various board chairmen, tasking them with advancing the state’s governance and public service delivery.

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, officially administered the oath of office to a fresh set of government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), permanent secretaries, special advisers, and various board heads. The ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall in Damaturu.

During the event, Governor Buni emphasized that these selections were essential for maintaining strong policy implementation and enhancing public services. He noted that his administration prioritizes a mix of veteran public servants and fresh professionals to keep governance efficient and innovative.

The Governor highlighted recent milestones, such as hiring over 9,000 teachers and 14,000 healthcare staff, as part of his broader effort to boost state human capital. He challenged the new officeholders to work with integrity and transparency to meet the state’s development goals. Key appointments include Dr. Mohammed Goje as the new SSG, along with several new permanent secretaries and commission chairmen, such as Engr. Umar Mustapha Goniri for the Rural Electrification Commission and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Yabani for YSIEC.
