Rotimi Amaechi Urges Opposition Alliance Against APC in 2027

ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has challenged opposition parties to unite to effectively compete against the APC in the upcoming 2027 election.

Rotimi Amaechi, the ADC vice-presidential candidate, has advocated for a unified front among opposition parties as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. During a meeting with a visiting delegation from the PDP, led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Amaechi emphasized that defeating the current ruling party requires collective cooperation.

The meeting occurred during a condolence visit following the passing of Amaechi’s mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Amaechi. Addressing the attendees, the former governor stressed that political figures must prioritize the needs of the Nigerian public over individual career goals. He cautioned that remaining fragmented will only benefit the APC’s chances of maintaining power.

In response, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki conveyed his condolences, acknowledging the profound pain associated with losing a parent. He noted the PDP’s shared history with Amaechi, highlighting his previous tenure as Speaker and Governor of Rivers State under the party banner, while offering support to the grieving family.
