Chief Bode George, a prominent leader within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has refuted assertions by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike that his Maitama property in Abuja was financed using Rivers State government funds. George labeled the claims as defamatory and announced his intention to pursue legal recourse.
During a TVC News interview, the PDP Board of Trustees member clarified that he purchased the home legitimately from a retired civil servant. He questioned the connection between his assets and Rivers State, dismissively asking if the state operated like a bank. George criticized Wike for his conduct, suggesting the minister lacks the maturity and temperament required for public service.
The dispute intensified after Wike publicly accused George of being a symbol of corruption, challenging him to account for his Abuja residence. Wike also scrutinized George’s influence on the PDP’s track record in Lagos since 1999. In response, George stated that Wike is beyond reconciliation and emphasized that he will take the matter to court to address the reckless accusations.
