Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, has encouraged citizens to cast their ballots against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming August 15 election. Adeleke argues that the opposition party failed to support civil servants during its previous tenure.
Sharing his message via X on Thursday, the governor emphasized that his re-election is vital to prevent a return to the financial struggles public employees faced under the former administration. He specifically highlighted that the previous government implemented a policy of paying half salaries, which forced many families to endure significant hardship and hunger.
Adeleke warned that those who previously utilized poverty as a tool against the populace are eager to reclaim power. He urged voters to support his administration, which he claims has prioritized worker welfare and consistent payment since taking office. He asserted that his government is committed to a path of progress and compassion.
Regarding the recent freezing of state bank accounts, the governor suggested this action would only motivate his supporters to turn out for the election. He positioned the vote as a choice between moving forward under his leadership or regressing to the policies associated with the APC.
