Rotimi Amaechi, the vice-presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Tuesday that his party is prepared to face whatever challenges President Bola Tinubu presents during the 2027 general elections. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Amaechi responded to the president’s claims of inevitable victory by asserting that the real contest will take place at the ballot box.
Amaechi challenged the president to continue his rhetoric regarding guaranteed success, emphasizing that the opposition would respond when the time is right. He expressed deep concern over the current state of the nation, stating that Nigeria requires rescue and criticizing the actions of the administration as offensive to his personal convictions. Amaechi, who previously competed against Tinubu for the All Progressives Congress ticket in 2022, has since shifted his allegiance to the ADC. He is now running alongside former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
