Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, suggests that Governor Ademola Adeleke is exhibiting signs of distress and instability regarding the upcoming August 15 election. This assertion follows remarks made by Governor Adeleke at an Osogbo rally, where he challenged President Bola Tinubu to maintain electoral integrity.
Addressing a crowd in Ikire, Oyebamiji argued that the governor’s vocal criticism of the President and Minister Gboyega Oyetola stems from a realization that the conditions that favored him in 2022 are no longer present. Oyebamiji emphasized that the APC has no plans to compromise the electoral process, stating that they intend to win through the ballot box. He further noted that the previous administration faced thorough financial audits after its term, which cleared them of any misconduct.
Looking ahead, the APC candidate promised to prioritize effective service delivery over political investigations should he secure victory. During his campaign trail in Gbongan, Oyebamiji highlighted the party’s long-standing dominance in the Irewole, Isokan, and Ayedaade Federal Constituency. His visit to the Olufi of Gbongan, Oba Adetoyese Oyeniyi, was met with a pledge of support from local traditional leaders who expressed faith in his leadership.
