Cameroon Secures Quarter-Final Spot at WAFCON 2026

Cameroon has officially advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a narrow victory over Ghana.

Cameroon is the first nation to advance to the quarter-finals of the current Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Indomitable Lionesses earned their place by defeating Ghana 1-0 in Casablanca this past Monday.

Marie Ngah Manga secured the win with her third goal of the competition, helping her team dominate Group D. With this victory, Cameroon accumulates six points and finishes at the top of the standings.

Elsewhere in Group D, Mali achieved a 3-2 win against Cape Verde. This result confirms that Cape Verde is the first team to exit the tournament.

Ghana will face Mali on Thursday to determine the second-place finisher. The Black Queens are in a strong position to advance with a draw, as they hold a better goal difference than their opponents.
