Larne’s Europa League first-leg match against FC Iberia 1999, scheduled for Tuesday at Inver Park, may be postponed by one day. The Georgian club encountered travel complications on Sunday, preventing their chartered flight from landing in Northern Ireland due to documentation problems.
As it stands, the visiting players and staff are not slated to reach the region until Tuesday afternoon, shortly before the 20:00 BST kick-off. Because UEFA rules generally require visiting teams to arrive at least 24 hours before a game, the Georgian side might petition for a rescheduling.
Representatives from Larne, FC Iberia 1999, and UEFA have been approached for comment regarding the situation. The return leg is currently set for August 11 in Tbilisi, with the overall winner advancing to face either Rangers or Jagiellonia Bialystock. Should they lose, the team will transition to the final qualifying stage of the UEFA Conference League.
