The United Kingdom has officially started accepting submissions for the 2026 Chevening Scholarships. This program provides full funding for master’s degrees at British universities for professionals and emerging leaders globally. Interested candidates may apply between August 4 and October 6, 2026.
Supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and various partners, the scholarship targets individuals who demonstrate strong networking and leadership capabilities. Emma Hennessey, head of the scholarship unit, stated that the program seeks applicants ready to contribute to a sustainable and resilient future, with a special emphasis on encouraging candidates from under-represented backgrounds.
British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Jonny Baxter, highlighted that the program serves as a gateway to a worldwide network of influential figures. Beyond academic study, scholars gain exposure to British culture and professional connections designed to help them tackle international issues. Prospective applicants are advised to check the official portal for eligibility criteria and program goals. Since 1983, Chevening has assisted over 60,000 professionals in more than 140 countries in developing their leadership careers.
