Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has publicly dismissed speculation regarding his resignation. Following a private security briefing with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Tuesday, the Minister expressed disbelief at the reports, stating they are entirely baseless. He vowed to pursue legal action against those who circulated the false information.
Musa suggested that the rumors were fabricated by individuals unhappy with the current administration’s progress in restoring national security. He emphasized that the meeting with President Tinubu was a routine update and that the President remains satisfied with the military’s ongoing efforts. The Minister described the false reports as a calculated attempt to damage public trust in the country’s security successes.
Highlighting the importance of public collaboration, the Minister thanked Nigerians for their assistance in the fight against banditry and terrorism. He reaffirmed that a unified approach is essential for continued progress, noting that security conditions across the nation are consistently improving.
