Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited Ikire on Monday to rally support for his re-election in the upcoming August 15 vote. Ikire is significant as the home base of Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate representing the All Progressives Congress. During his address in the Irewole Local Government Area, Adeleke highlighted his long-standing ties to the community, noting that he was a student at Nawairudeen Grammar School.
The governor reminded the crowd of their past support during his 2022 victory and emphasized his recent performance as the basis for a second term. He encouraged citizens to cast their ballots calmly and remain resilient against any potential intimidation. As part of his visit, Adeleke inaugurated a new road construction project, reiterating his commitment to developing infrastructure across Osun regardless of political leanings.
Accompanied by key political figures, including PDP state chairman Sunday Bisi and Imole Campaign Council leader Prof. Wale Oladipo, the governor also met with the Akire of Ikire to receive a traditional blessing before the rally.
