The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has officially stated that internal interference within its ranks has ceased. This announcement arrives after an internal crisis resulted in the removal of several high-ranking members. Mazi Chris Nwaogu, the newly appointed head of the 4th Administration of the IPOB Directorate of State, shared this update during a Monday address to supporters.
Nwaogu, appointed by IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to succeed Chika Edoziem’s 3rd Administration, stated that his leadership intends to restore discipline, loyalty, and accountability to the organization. Key objectives for this new administration include the reactivation of Radio Biafra, which Nwaogu described as a crucial tool for communication.
The administration is also prioritizing the legal defense of detained members currently held in various Nigerian correctional facilities and by the Department of State Services. Additionally, Nwaogu noted that the group is refining the welfare management and oversight processes for the Eastern Security Network (ESN) to ensure resources are handled transparently. Financial integrity is a major focal point for the new leadership, with Nwaogu emphasizing that all contributions belong to the collective movement rather than individuals.
To combat misinformation, the administration plans to provide regular, verified updates regarding Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing legal situation. Nwaogu concluded by warning former members of the dissolved 3rd Administration to stop identifying themselves as IPOB representatives, cautioning that they will face legal repercussions for continuing to do so.
