Philip Agbese, the Deputy Spokesperson for the House of Representatives, has commended President Bola Tinubu and top security officials for the recent rescue of kidnapped teachers and students in Oriire, Oyo State. Speaking in Abuja, the Labour Party member identified the mission as a significant turning point in the ongoing fight against national insecurity.
Agbese highlighted the operation as a major boost to public trust, noting that it signals a shift where criminal factions no longer control the security situation. He extended his appreciation to President Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, and the heads of the police and intelligence services for their disciplined and coordinated efforts.
The lawmaker remarked that the mission highlights the military’s improved strategy and unwavering resolve to hunt down criminals. He noted that this rescue follows other recent military successes, such as the efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Zamfara and Katsina, which neutralized terrorists and prevented large-scale attacks. According to Agbese, these victories are proof that security forces have regained the initiative.
Agbese called on the public to continue providing intelligence to support these operations. He concluded with a warning to criminals, advising them to surrender as the military’s operational momentum has shifted against them, bringing the country closer to sustained peace and stability.
