Jigawa ADC Governorship Nominee Nakudu Dismisses Substitution Demands

Jigawa ADC gubernatorial candidate Senator Sabo Nakudu has rejected efforts to remove him from the ballot, calling the claims of an ICPC indictment a malicious political smear.

Senator Sabo Nakudu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) flagbearer for the Jigawa State governorship election, has dismissed demands to step down following claims of an ICPC indictment. He labeled the petition as a deliberate effort to stir up unnecessary discord.

In a press release issued by his spokesperson, Mati Ali, the senator labeled the allegations as unfounded, damaging, and purposefully aimed at damaging his personal and professional integrity. He asserted that the claims are entirely false and meant to sabotage his candidacy.

Nakudu attributed the accusations to a calculated conspiracy by rivals who feel threatened by the rising popularity of the ticket he shares with Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim. He argued that these adversaries are unsettled by the ADC’s position as a significant challenger for the 2027 elections.

According to the senator, the orchestrators include internal and external detractors who are working with the ruling party to disrupt his campaign. He emphasized that he has never faced a conviction or been found guilty of any wrongdoing, noting that these allegations are repetitive smear tactics often employed during election cycles.
