Under the revised policy, the midnight curfew remains mandatory throughout every series, whether domestic or international. While head coach Brendon McCullum and director of cricket Rob Key retain the authority to waive these rules for celebrations or traditional post-series social events, the guidance aims to prioritize player recovery and professional standards. Furthermore, should players choose to drink, the updated protocols mandate that it must not happen in public spaces. Private consumption is also discouraged to assist with preparation.
Additional requirements stipulate that players must notify security or management if they leave their hotel after 10:00 PM. Public displays of intoxication and social media posts featuring alcohol-related activities are strictly prohibited.
