Kabiru Bello Bandawaire, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Taraba North senatorial seat, has officially denied rumors that he has been removed from the race. He emphasized that he remains the party’s legitimate nominee and has no intention of abandoning his campaign.
Addressing the public in Jalingo on Saturday, Bandawaire rejected claims that his name had been swapped with that of incumbent senator Shuibu Isa Lau. He stated that the reports were inaccurate and misleading, noting that he has received no communication from the party regarding any such change.
The candidate stressed that the Electoral Act dictates specific procedures for candidate replacement, which require a formal voluntary withdrawal. Since he has neither resigned nor signaled any interest in doing so, he maintains that the mandate granted to him by the people remains intact. Bandawaire concluded by calling for the party to uphold due process, reaffirming that he is still the official APC candidate for the district.
