The Arewa Think Tank is calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss recent accusations directed at his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. The group believes these reports should not impact his administrative appointments or internal operations.
Speaking to the media in Kaduna, group convener Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu labeled the reports concerning the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) as a strategic political maneuver. He encouraged the public to verify information before forming opinions, noting that high-ranking officials frequently face baseless claims when they assume significant roles.
Yakubu pointed to previous controversies involving Senator Abdulaziz Yari to illustrate a pattern of politically motivated interference. He urged the President to ignore these distractions and stay committed to the business of governance. The group expressed support for the Presidency’s formal statement, which clarified that the PFIPC is not a legitimate government entity and that Gbajabiamila is not involved with the organization.
Through a statement from Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the government confirmed that the Chief of Staff continues to serve in his role, labeling rumors of his dismissal as entirely false. Yakubu reiterated that the public should prioritize official communications over rumors to avoid destabilizing democratic institutions.
