The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in the Abuja Region has scheduled essential preventive maintenance at the Katampe 132/33kV transmission substation. This work is set to take place this Saturday, running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, the TCN General Manager for Public Affairs, confirmed the details in an official statement. The primary objective is to allow technical teams to service the 100MVA 132/33kV power transformer, along with its secondary equipment and switchgear.
As a result of this activity, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will temporarily halt bulk power supply to several locations. Affected areas include Maitama, Mpape, Life Camp, Jahi, Idu-Karmo, and the Kado Fish Market vicinity. The TCN expressed regret for the disruption, emphasizing that this routine upkeep is vital for maintaining long-term equipment efficiency.
