Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his dedication to public service, humorously suggesting that the minister picked up his work ethic from him. During the inauguration of access roads in the Karsana West District, held to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s three-year milestone, Akpabio spoke on behalf of the president.
Reflecting on their history, Akpabio shared that Wike had visited Akwa Ibom State during his tenure as governor. Witnessing the infrastructure projects there inspired Wike to commit to high-level performance in his future roles. Akpabio noted that Wike’s passion for development is now an intrinsic part of his professional character.
The Senate President joked that he once asked Wike to slow down, fearing his colleague might work so hard that future successors would have nothing left to accomplish. Akpabio emphasized that Wike’s commitment to excellence has left a positive mark on his current assignments under the Tinubu administration.
