Bournemouth secure £25.7m agreement for Elche forward Alvaro Rodriguez

Bournemouth have agreed to a deal worth up to £25.7m for Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez, while insisting that midfielder Alex Scott is not for sale.

Bournemouth have reached an agreement to sign Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez for an initial £21.4m, a figure that could increase to £25.7m depending on performance-based add-ons. The 21-year-old Uruguay youth international is scheduled to undergo a medical examination and finalize a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium this Monday.

Because Elche acquired the player from Real Madrid last summer, the Spanish giants are entitled to 50% of the transfer proceeds. Bournemouth, now under the leadership of new manager Marco Rose following Andoni Iraola’s departure to Liverpool, are prioritizing additions to their forward line and defensive unit to support their upcoming Europa League campaign.

The arrival of Rodriguez is intended to push current forward Evanilson, while the club remains open to offloading Enes Unal. Despite significant interest from Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United in midfielder Alex Scott, club officials have confirmed he is not available for transfer. Bournemouth are working to secure Scott on a new deal that may include a future release clause, mirroring the structure used in Antoine Semenyo’s high-profile move to Manchester City.

To prepare for their European commitments, the team has finalized a pre-season schedule featuring matches against St Pauli, Augsburg, Real Betis, Mainz, and Genoa.
