Emma Raducanu Intends to Compete at Wimbledon Following Injury Concerns

Emma Raducanu has decided to move forward with her Wimbledon campaign after recovering from a recent leg injury that threatened her participation.

British tennis player Emma Raducanu has confirmed her intention to participate in Wimbledon this Monday, despite recent uncertainty surrounding a leg injury. The 23-year-old athlete, currently seeded 30th, finalized her decision following a brief practice session at the All England Club on Sunday. Her opening match is scheduled against Antonia Ruzic of Croatia on Court One.

Concerns regarding Raducanu’s physical condition emerged last week when she was seen wearing a protective boot. She was sidelined from training on Thursday and Friday due to a suspected shin issue. Although she tested her mobility during a practice set with Anna Kalinskaya on Saturday, she concluded that session slightly earlier than planned. This latest challenge is part of a recurring pattern of injuries that have affected the 2021 US Open winner since her major title victory. Despite a season hampered by illness and limited match play, her recent performance at the Queen’s Club final has offered some hope for a competitive showing at this year’s tournament.
