Lagos State Police have taken Emeka Joseph into custody after a video depicting the abuse of Ezeka Chisom surfaced online. Joseph now faces formal charges for the incident and is currently being held at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Police reports indicate that the two were living together at the time of the attack, which resulted in significant facial injuries for the victim. SP Abimbola Adebisi, the spokesperson for the Lagos Command, confirmed that the suspect was processed by the court and remanded until the next hearing scheduled for August 3, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the department’s firm position against domestic violence. He emphasized that the agency remains dedicated to prosecuting such offenders. Fatai encouraged the public to notify the nearest police station immediately if they witness or experience abuse to ensure quick intervention.
