Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in Anyigba has apprehended two more individuals suspected of cult involvement as part of its ongoing security initiative. These arrests follow the fatal attack on David Solomon, a 300-level biochemistry student, who was killed on campus on June 11.
University spokesperson Uredo Omale identified the suspects as 100-level social studies students Fidelis Atuluku and Monday Okolo. Acting on intelligence, campus security captured the duo with occult items, and both have admitted to being members of the Juris Confraternity. The administration plans to transfer the pair to the police for formal prosecution.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Salisu Usman condemned the violence as a severe threat to the school’s academic integrity. He has launched an amnesty program for students wishing to abandon cult activities, promising that those who surrender voluntarily will not face immediate expulsion, provided they sign formal renunciation documents. The school is currently conducting a profiling process for these individuals.
While investigations into Solomon’s death proceed, management has increased security patrols across the university grounds. Prof. Usman also requested that families stay vigilant regarding their children’s associations to prevent them from being drawn into clandestine groups. The institution remains dedicated to eradicating criminal elements to ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
